Analytics Event Monitor is a browser extension designed for web analytics debugging and inspection. It allows users to inspect dataLayer events, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) network requests, event parameters, GA4 destinations, and ecommerce item data directly in their browser.
Analytics Event Monitor processes analytics debugging information from websites that the user chooses to inspect.
Depending on the website and its analytics implementation, this information may include:
Analytics Event Monitor does not intentionally collect passwords, authentication credentials, payment card information, health information, or personal communications.
Because analytics implementations are controlled by individual websites, event payloads may contain information defined by those websites.
Captured analytics events and extension preferences may be stored locally in the user’s browser so that debugging history can persist across page reloads, redirects, and browser tabs.
This locally stored information is used only to provide the extension’s analytics debugging functionality.
Users can remove captured event history using the extension’s Clear functionality or by removing the extension/browser storage.
Analytics Event Monitor does not operate an external server for collecting captured analytics data.
Captured analytics debugging information is not transmitted by Analytics Event Monitor to the developer or to an external analytics database.
The extension may observe network requests already initiated by the website, including Google Analytics 4 measurement requests, for debugging and inspection purposes.
Analytics Event Monitor does not modify, redirect, or independently resend these observed GA4 requests.
